Summer Status Report – Pretty Awesome

Hi, everybody. Anyway, it's been a while (like, a month or so) since I've posted a real post here. (well.. there *was* that last one, but you can just pretend like that post doesn't even exist for now.) I just plain haven't really wanted to post anything lately. Well, now I want to. I now present to you: Summer Status Report: Aught Seven.

So anyway, right off the bat, the first weekend, I took the ACT. Ugh. It was my first time taking it, and it had it's ups (reuniting with pretty much all my former junior class one more time) and downs (well... the entire test :P) I got a 27 on it, not *too* bad for my first try. Later that night was another multi-stake church dance. I've decided that these things really are fun, after all. There was music, fun, crazy dancing, all the things that you usually associate with things like this. The chance to meet up with friends (even a couple new ones, too) was pretty sweet. I even slow danced with all five of my Viewmont dance dates. Yay.

Later this month I went to my ward's first Youth Conference, which, I have to admit, was a lot funner than I anticipated it being. We went to various different places in central Utah.. We spent most of our time at a house/cabin thingy in Fairview, but we also went to Clas Ropes Course in Provo, Snow College to play some games, and the Mormon Miracle Pageant in Manti. Other highlights included an attempt at playing water games, which actually erupted into a huge, two-hour long water fight (with 5-gallon buckets of water galore), before the games could even be set up. Attempts to actually play any sort of organized game backfired pitifully. It was a blast.

That's most of the major stuff that's gone on so far. There's probably been more, but I can't think of anything else. But yeah, summer so far has been awesome. It's been the funnest summer ever, and I owe it all to you awesome people reading this thing right now. Yes, there has been a tonsfold increase in hanging-outitude. Almost every day this summer I've been at somebody's house, and my cellphone usage has gone WAY up since summer began. (Thank goodness for unlimited texting) The fact that two of my best friends now work with me at the Murph also helps, too. Oh, also, I think I've finally figured out how to get more people to come to this thing. Post links to it in certain publicized places. I think it's working. Well, I'm out. Peace.

Some Kind of Web Log: Post Number Twenty-Eight

This is the opening paragraph of a post on my (Braden, AKA Kilroy) internet weblog, appropriately titled Some Kind of Web Log. It usually starts out with an introductory sentence, briefly stating the main topic of what this entry's gonna be like. Then there are a couple more sentences, usually starting out the story or topic that I am going to talk about. They tend to be somewhat conversational, as if I am directly speaking to you. This is intended to provide a personal feel to the entry and to make the overall tone more friendly.

Then there is the second paragraph, where I then proceed to go into the topic in more detail. The editorial tone of this paragraph can vary, however, between the conversational style typically displayed in the first paragraph, and a more formal, book-like tone that most blogs feature. The detail is gone into much, much more in the second and subsequent paragraphs, as this is the main body of the entry.

Oftentimes, a third or even fourth paragraph is added, if I happen to have a lot to say about that particular subject. Usually if it involves my awesome friends in any which way possible, up to ten, possibly even fifteen or twenty additional paragraphs may be added.

Then there is the closing paragraph, where I try to wrap the entry up, usually by posting a summary of how boring my life has been during the time since my last blog entry. (Oftentimes, after I finish the post and publish it, I will forget to leave out one important detail or two, and I will have to edit it, usually multiple times, to include said detail.) Then I try to think up a somewhat imaginative closing line, like, "See ya'll when you're against the wall" or something similar. That's when the entry ends, and you may proceed to read better, more worthwhile internet websites, such as this one. Or maybe even this one..

Emit Remmus

Finally! Summer is here! And it's about time, too.

I've been waiting for this moment. Although I do have some end-of-school-year blues, and some serious concerns about my English and History grades (let's just say that I probably won't be getting that almost-4.0 after all.. :S), I'm glad that one of the major stressors of life has been postponed for three more months.

So exactly what am I doing this summer? Well, I have various conferences/camps... such as my ward's first-ever youth conference (go figure :P), the obligatory Priests' Camp, and of course Impact Team camp. Add to that work, a trip to Bear Lake, and, um.. hanging out with the posse, and you've got a fairly loaded summer right there.

Of course, I'm open for hang-outs and high-fives, too. Just give me a call. If you're reading this, you've probably got my number. :P Seriously, I need to get more visitors to come to this poor little blog. Oh well. I kinda like the secluded nature that websites with very few visitors have.

Anyway, I should post a rant about something. Maybe. Ehh, I'll do that later. Just quit reading my silly blog and get out and ENJOY YOUR SUMMER, PEOPLE! Heheh.
