I love my friends

Well, it's Easter Sunday, and also the last day of Spring Break. This break has actually been pretty good; not only did I manage to get away from doing my calculus "homework" that I was supposed to be doing all this week (I can barely do math at school, imagine doing it while you're on a week-long break), but I did lots of fun things with my friends, and stuff.

....ummm, okay, well, not everything was particularly fun, but.... yeah. So, to start things off, on Friday, I had to work a 3 to close, for the fourth Friday in a row. Ugh. What especially sucked was that I had to help Arbys (er... Ryan) close for his first time ever as a shift leader. That's not good. The two of us ended up staying there until 11:00 PM, as there was an abnormal amount of work that we still needed to finish.

In the meantime, a few of my friends, Erin, Kira, and John went over to the new South Davis Rec Center as it was a free night, and I had promised them that I would meet them over there after I got off, which I was anticipating to be around 9:30 or 9:45. Welp, that didn't happen, and I was in a really really sad mood, as I felt that I let them down somewhat. Plus, I had next to nothing to eat that night, and I felt like crap. Ryan kept on telling me how sorry he was for making me stay this late, and I kept on apologizing for the several short breaks I was taking because I didn't have much strength to do anything fast. We were like brothers that day. (well, kind of.) Then, around 10:30, my friends called me from the rec center. I told them that I likely wouldn't be making it over there, and they were perfectly fine with it. They basically lifted my right up with that phone call, and that definitely got me through the rest of that night.

Later that week, on Thursday, we got back together to watch some movies, this time, with one of my best friends Dan joining us. Then, on Friday night, the five of us all went to the rec center again. This time, I managed to just barely get off work in time to pick up Dan, Erin and Kira (John was already over there as he had a few of his friends already over there.) We went ice skating and swimming. Now, keep in mind, this was only the second time in my life that I had ever gone ice skating, and the first time, well, was a complete disaster. This time, though, I had the help of my friends, Erin and Dan especially, basically teaching me how to ice skate. Of course, I looked like a complete idiot out there on the ice, but I didn't care. I was with friends. We all went swimming after that and it was a whole lot of fun.

To top it all off, on Saturday I went over to Melissa's house to go to a party there with a whole bunch of her friends. We did various things such as playing football in the dark, watching home movies, and getting into a crazy fight with shaving cream. Not only did Melissa's yard have shaving cream all over, but there were at least two or three people that were absolutely covered from head to toe with shaving cream. (I managed to stay relatively clean, thank goodness.)

Anyway, I don't think I could have mentally survived Spring Break without these precious moments spent with some of my favorite people. It's amazing that just one and a half or two years ago, I was basically a loner; ever since I moved back in 2000, I haven't really had more than like one or two people that I could talk to until I came to high school. Now I have a whole bunch of friends and I'm really grateful for you all: you guys rock. (Oh, and I apologize for the length of this entry.. :D )
